In fact, I used to have the same ambitions and found myself struggled to maitain motivation half way through the year. Why? I have learnt from my own experience that it’s the lack of good and consistent habits. Habit has powerful compound effect on determine the outcome of our daily life circumstance. It‘s never too late to build good new habits.

1.Sleep and wake up early

Having a good night of sleep has profound effect on your energy level for the whole day. sleeping well is the first step to a more productive day, a more stable mental health and overall, happier self.

2.Save and invest more money

Life can‘t move further without stable financial foundation. Saving and investing money should stay on our top priority list at all time. I know some people may get intimitateted by the thought of investing their hard earned savings. They fear for losses or scams in the investing process.

I once had the same fear like many others. But I didn‘t just give up. The first step I took to over fear is through financial education. I will write another post to explain more details on how regular people like me can start investing without having any prior financial degree or expereice. So stay tuned.:)

3.Drink more water

Drinking water seem so natural and effectless. However, many of us don’t drink enough water on a daily base. Hydration has many profound positive effect on our overall health. I have cover this topic in my other blog post.

4. Mindful exercise and diet

Exercise daily may sound intimidating at first, but once you make it a habit, you will enjoy it. I recommend starting with slow and mindful exercise such as walking in a park, performing a morning quick stretch right out of bed and any other form of exercise you feel comfortable to start with.

Diet and exercise can‘t dance solo if you want to achieve optimal physical health. Eating habit determines the state of your physical energy. It will also affect your mood through the day. I recommend keeping a food and exercise journal in the beginning just to stay on track.

5.Practice gratitude

The definition of happiness varies from people to people. Since nobody can have a perfect life, we can learn to appreciate life more often and celebrate the small victories. There are many ways to practice gradtitude, I prefer cooking a nice meal for myself and my loved ones to show them my gratitude.

6.Prioritize self-care

We can‘t achive anything without taking good care of ourself. When you take good care of yourself, you are able to give more to others. Whatever self-care routine you have, it’s always important to practice regularly. You will find yourself feeling more content and energetic once self-care finds its way to your habit list.

There are many good reasons for limiting screen time. You will have more time to focus on other activities that benefit your wellbeing such as reading a book, starting a new hobby to learn a new craft, letting your eyes to take from overworking, just to name a few. The list can go on and on.

If your job requires you stay on screen for a long period of time daily, make sure you take the time to go outdoor to gaze far away. It‘s one of my doctor’s recommendation for protecting eye health. Be mindful when using technology. Less is more.

Opportunities await for those who are always prepared. Building a habit for continuing education will open many doors. Technology has made learning more convienient than ever. There are many creditble online learning platforms which are affodable and easy to access.
